A 25-year-old man has been arrested following a series of car-key burglaries in Chelmsley Wood, where homes were broken into and vehicles stolen.
A man has been arrested after a series of car-key burglaries in Chelmsley Wood, according to West Midlands Police.
The Solihull Neighbourhood Crime Team had been investigating reports of homes being broken into and cars being stolen in the area.
Police said forensic examinations carried out during the investigation helped officers identify a 25-year-old man.
He has now been arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in custody for questioning.
West Midlands Police said: “Following forensic examinations a 25-year-old man was identified and has now been arrested on suspicion of burglary.”
The force said the investigation centres on a number of car-key burglaries in Chelmsley Wood, with officers continuing to investigate the offences.
The man has not been charged and remains in custody while enquiries continue.
West Midlands Police has not released details of the number or type of vehicles allegedly stolen, or said whether the arrested man is suspected of involvement in every reported burglary.
The investigation is ongoing.
