Drivers face string of Solihull road closures as major routes shut this week

Drivers across Solihull face a series of road closures this week, with several routes affected in Chelmsley Wood, Fordbridge and the town centre.

Motorists are being warned to expect disruption as a number of roads across Solihull are closed or restricted over the coming days.

The latest restrictions include closures in Chelmsley Wood, Fordbridge and Solihull, with further roadworks continuing across areas including Shirley, Dorridge and Castle Bromwich.

The most immediate closure affects Coleshill Heath Road in Chelmsley Wood, which is closed from Tuesday, August 25 until Wednesday, August 26.

Drivers in the area will then face another closure nearby, with Bosworth Drive in Fordbridge due to close from Wednesday, August 26 until Friday, August 28.

There is also a closure planned for Widney Manor Road in Solihull from August 26 to August 28. The road is also listed as having traffic-calming work currently under construction.

The restrictions form part of a wider programme of temporary traffic measures across the borough.

Other works currently listed by Solihull Council include closures affecting Blossomfield Road, where restrictions linked to cycle-lane works are scheduled to continue until September 18.

Further restrictions are also affecting roads around the borough, including Dorridge and Balsall Common, while works are continuing on projects designed to improve roads, crossings and traffic management.

Solihull Council operates a live roadworks map showing current and planned works across the borough, allowing drivers to check individual roads before travelling.
